Any Way We Want It . . . . . .

I've got the day off so I'm M-Vloggin a day early.

Journey is one of my all-time favorite arena rock bands. They've had a revolving door lineup over the years and it goes without saying that Steve Perry is my favorite of all their lead singers, but you gotta give this kid (kid -- he's 40) Arnel Pineda credit where credit is due. Neal Schon found this guy on the internet singing cover tunes in Hong Kong and Phillipine night clubs. After auditioning him, they gave him the job of new lead singer on the spot. He is pretty damn good. Check out Arnel's version of "Any Way You Want It" filmed live in Las Vegas as Journey kicked off their 2008 North American tour. Enjoy!

Oh My! -- Somebody Tells The Truth on National TV About the Religious Nuts . . . Oh My!

It's so refreshing to see somebody in a mainstream media outlet tell the down and dirty truth about the religious right in this country not only being bat-shit insane, but also unpatriotic Democracy haters. Information like this on the public airwaves rarely, if ever, sees the light of day. Hopefully it's a trend.

Like his comedic counterpart Jon Stewart did earlier in the week with his devastating bitch-slap of the CNBC buffoons, D.L. Hughley schools the inept, cowardly and corrupt media on what it means to to actually do their job by informing the American people about an issue that is an important component to the long term survival of our Democracy --- and he ought to be applauded for doing it.

In a nutshell, if there's anyone out there still of the belief that the religious right in this country is a benign entity and poses no threat to American society, this interview with Frank Schaeffer, who with his father and mother were early key figures in the religious right's rise to power, should shatter that view and make you think twice about what these dangerous people have in store for you and your children's future if they ever gain any semblance of political power.

It's essential viewing for anyone with an ounce of desire to see America and it's Democracy prosper and flourish.
