If it weren't so sad and true, it would be funny . . .

Newsweek's Jonathan Alter kicks up the snark factor several notches with this beautiful lampooning of the conservative's head in the sand stubbornness in denying the reality of a full-blown crisis with American health care.

Scaring the elderly -- the GOP's favorite new leisure activity . . .

The latest scare-mongering by conservative Republicans has plumbed new depths of despicableness. Frightening American seniors by making outrageously false claims that a public option in any health care reform legislation would result in the U.S. government "putting to death" the aged and infirm is about one of the most loathsome things I think I've ever heard.

Let's face it folks -- the Republican creeps (and a few cowardly Blue Dog Democrat creeps too) have absolutely no plan or ideas themselves and are so financially beholden to big pharmaceutical and health insurance, that they've abandoned any pretense of honesty and fairness in the debate, and instead have resorted to what they are best at -- lies, lies and more lies. To have public figures go on television and target a message to seniors which states that if the GOP doesn't get their way, the big bad 'gubmint' is gonna force grandma and grandpa into the Soylent Green program is repulsive on so many levels it ----- well fuck it! -- it's evil -- simple as that.

Sentient Beings vs. The Lizard People . . .

Bill Maher is on a roll. In this 'New Rules' clip he eviscerates America's national embarrassment -- right wingers -- with a special nod to "The Birthers."

Weekend M-Vloggin' - - with Journey

Steve Perry is missed, no argument there. But if you can't have the best, you can't go too wrong with second best. New lead singer Arnel Pineda channels Steve Perry's voice, and just as importantly, his soul, better than any of the Perry clones out there in my view. I've got tix to go see them Saturday nite 08/01 at San Manuel Amphitheater in Devore, CA. Night Ranger is opening. Gonna be fun.

Stating the Obvious . . .

Former GOP Congressman Tom Davis of Virginia hits the proverbial nail on the head in discussing the core reasons behind the conservative movement's spectacular downfall. In doing so he inadvertently also explains why conservatives despise robust and equitable public education so much.

"Politics has been defined by culture over the last few cycles, and we've become a rural party and a Southern party. We've been losing inner suburbs and the like. A lot of this was the policies of the Bush administration."

Davis goes on to state:

"The high education areas Obama carried - 78 of the 100 counties with the highest education. McCain carried 88 of the 100 counties with the lowest education. As we move to cultural politics, that's been the shift."

It's 2:44 AM -- Do you know where your Maher is?

Bill Maher has pretty much the same view I have regarding the Sgt. Crowley/Skip Gates affair and race relations in general - only his method of explaining it all is much funnier than I could ever hope to do.

Barackzebub Cometh? LOL!

Well - I suppose it was just a matter of time before they got around to it.

It is comforting to know though that utilizing their infantile chain of logic, it appears that Satan has already come and departed our earthly midst on at least one occasion --- in the name of one Ronald Wilson Reagan. Don't you see it?:

Ronald - 6 letters
Wilson - 6 letters
Reagan - 6 letters

6 6 6

If anything, you really have to admit it .. conservatives and religious nuts are a never-ending source of riotous entertainment.

Mob Rules!! Why do conservatives hate Democracy?

Well of course the right-wing nuts are coordinating efforts to disrupt and shout down opportunities for intelligent, reasonable debate within our communities! My gawd!-- it's the classic definition of "herd mentality". In layman's terms, you gather a group of dumb as a rock animals (in this case right wing kooks), you get one of them to behave in a boorish, cretinous manner, and the rest of the herd simply mimics the uncivil behavior. It's the same concept used by Rush Limbaugh to keep his ditto-head herd coming back for more idiocy day in day out.

I mean let's face the truth about the matter --- the core reasons why the right wingers do not want to fairly participate in an honest and civil debate about anything are:

1. They themselves are fearful that a majority of the people actually might approve of the ideas of those they oppose.

2. They have no rational or coherent competing ideas themselves.

3. The few ideas they do have are so draconian and morally distasteful nobody would like them anyway.

4. They really do hate the whole idea of representative democracy as the founding fathers of this country meant for it to be practiced.

5. They're cowardly assholes.

The Beckster Channels Der Fuhrer . . .

Glenn Beck sends the ass-klown meter soaring to new levels. Listen closely to the "citizen-snitch" state he's advocating. I'm convinced that if someone were to translate Beck's ravings into proper German and then compare them to some of Adolf Hitler's speeches from back in 1930's pre-WW2 Germany, they wouldn't sound all that different.

What's really galling is the way he couches it all in terms of his supposedly teary-eyed concern for The United States Constitution. If you've ever spent any marginal amount of time listening to Glenn Beck, and you are sane, it's hard to believe Glenn Beck has ever taken the time to actually read the U.S. Constitution. What a major-league fraud and phony this guy is. Honestly speaking -- it would be extremely difficult for me to respect the views of anyone who counts Glenn Beck as one of their intellectual heroes. Extremely difficult.

The U.S. Health Care Debate - Simply Explained . . .

Contrast this conservative claptrap idiocy:

With this undeniable reality:

This recent standing/sitting room only Health "Fair" in Wise, VA is not a uniquely regional phenomena. The group of Health care professionals and volunteers that run this show are on tour constantly. Wise, Virginia this weekend, Los Angeles the next. It's the same sad, story over and over again from one side of the country to the other.

It is an absolute shame on this country and our cowardly political and business "leaders" that there is even a "debate" over this issue. A truly rotten shame.

Failing Upwards . . . .

I wish I had some semblance of pity, or empathy for Bill Kristol. Fact of the matter is, I hope the fucker dies a worse death than than any one of the 500,000 Iraqi civilians who've died since his limp dick, wet pants fantasy of invading Iraq took place.

He makes it seem so fucking easy to sit there on TV and pretend to know what the fuck he's talking about. He does it with ease though -- which to me means he's winking and nodding his way past the wingnut viewers just enough to keep his self employed.

Here's to you Bill Kristol --- proof that being wrong over and over and over again, isn't a barrier to a million dollar salary and being an "informed" consultant for Fox News.
