They're baaaaaaaaack . . . the Teabaggers are on the march again

But the New Boston Tea Party hardly offers the kind of reasoned, respectable opposition that the Tea Party Patriots attempt to embody. Currently, the site's lead item -- about the president's planned speech to school kids next week -- is entitled "Dr. Barack Goebbels Obama, Chief Reichmaster Tuesday September 8, 2009." Another recent post, based on the false "death panel" rumor, discusses Nazi doctor Josef Megele's human experiments on concentration camp inmates, before declaring: "WE NOW HAVE ANOTHER DR. MENGELE, AKA BARACK HUSSEING (sic) BARACK MENGELE."

I mean it's not like I need to make this shit up, or scour obscure underground websites for my posting material. It's right there, out in the open. And what makes it dangerous is that it's willfully coddled and supported by mainstream Republicanism, and even more sinister, given attention (ergo credence) by the mainstream media.

So now it's been announced that the Teabaggers are going to have their own tantrum, er march, on Washington. Yippeeee skippeeee! Oh I tremble in feverish anticipation of such a pathetically grotesque spectacle! Lol.

Hmmmmm -- an evil librul thought just entered my mind. I'm thinking that if I were of the average Teabagger mentality, and I knew that a whole bunch of losers whom I intensely dislike were going to be gathered in one place at the same time . . . . . . . oh nevermind - good thing I'm not of their mentality - lol.

Anyhow, I have no doubt that there will some prime nutcase video and pictures to come out of that little gathering of insane asylum escapees. Should be fun stuff.

The Age of un-Reason . . .

You know, the hard core right wing had better be very careful with how far they take their bullying and intimidation tactics in our public discourse. All of the available evidence indicates that these people have deluded themselves into believing that just because they shout people down at town halls, physically intimidate people, and strut around flashing their G.I. Joe assault rifles and pistols, they think that behavior alone validates their viewpoint and that it's a majority viewpoint.

Here's what I predict is likely to happen if they finally end up crossing that line where their brutish actions end up starting a major civil incident in this country. I predict they will find out very harshly and very quickly that their movement is a self-manufactured illusion -- nothing more than a loud-mouthed, ignorant minority who aren't the great patriots they like to portray themselves as. And the majority of Americans, who are actually sane, decent, fair-minded people, will bring a hammer of justice down upon their stupid fucking block heads so fast they won't know what hit them.

It bothers me immensely to say it, but maybe that is what will finally need to occur in order to get Democracy back on an even keel in America.

Forgive them father, for they know not the stupidity they do . . .

I wish I could tell you this is a parody, but it isn't. A glimpse at the disease that infests this otherwise wonderful country's soul:

And I'll pose the question again -- who is brainwashing who?

Crazy, but that's how it goes . . .

Apparently I'm not alone in my view that the GOP has gone off the rails on the crazy train.

Here,

Here,

and

Here.

I honestly wonder what it must be like for the few remaining sane conservatives within the GOP as they helplessly watch the batshit crazy crowd hijack their once proud political party -- the party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Dwight Eisenhower -- make a mockery of political discourse, and, turn the GOP into a cartoon version of Elmer Gantry Goes To Washington?

All aboard!

(Hahahahaha)

(Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye...)

Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it's not too late
To learn how to love and forget how to hate

Mental wounds not healing
Life's a bitter shame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

I've listened to preachers, I've listened to fools
I've watched all the dropouts who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you live the role

Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words
Yeah

Heirs of a cold war, that's what we've become
Inheriting troubles, I'm mentally numb
Crazy, I just cannot bear
I'm living with something that just isn't fair

Mental wounds not healing
Who and what's to blame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

Labor Day Weekend M-Vloggin' - - with Loverboy

Saw Loverboy in concert at their peak around 1985 time-frame at some type of music festival along the shores of the Mississippi river near downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. On the same bill were John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band (On the Dark Side) and Survivor (Eye of the Tiger). Fun stuff and a perfect song to kickstart the beginning of the Labor Day weekend. Enjoy.

It's worth your time . . .

I often wonder whether concepts such as "facts" and "truth" are simply mere annoyances to right-wing conservatives.

The hissy fit they've been throwing this week about President Barack Obama's plans to speak to the nation's schoolchildren on Sept. 8, which they claim is nothing more than an attempt by Obama to "indoctrinate" the poor little children in the ways of socialist governing and policy-making, certainly has been a discussion, on their part at least, that has been utterly devoid of anything resembling the truth. Par for the course though.

PolitiFact.com does Americans who are truly interested in hearing the truth a tremendous favor by analyzing, dissecting and then summarily destroying the right-wing's claims about the upcoming Obama speech.

If the truth affects you in the same way sunlight affects a vampire, I strongly advise you not to read this article.

Secession Baby Secession ! ! . . .

I guess I'll ask this question for the umpteenth time - - why do right-wing conservatives hate the United States of America?

Just asking . . .

Americans Don't Want Socialized Medicine!! Unless you are a Republican Congressman . . .

Ed Schultz lays a pretty good smackdown on the Republican hypocrites who out of one side of their mouths are fanning the flames of the right-wing socialized medicine scare-mongering, but, who when they themselves want top-notch medical care, they slink off to government run, taxpayer funded facilities.

Assklowns.

----k

Who is Brainwashing who?

As detailed in an earlier post, the right wing conservatives are in a mouth-frothing tizzy over a speech President Barack Obama is scheduled to give to the nation's schools next Tuesday. The wing nuts are breathlessly accusing Obama of deviously plotting to use the opportunity to "brainwash" and "indoctrinate" America's precious children into supporting his socialized educational and health care policies.

You really have to marvel at the hypocritical hilarity at the thought of conservatives actually giving a rat's ass about American children, of which approximately 18% in this country are living in poverty and which another 10% have no medical insurance whatsoever and if that figure is combined with the under-insured it amounts to about 28%. And god forbid should anyone actually try to pass legislation to help these poor kids. Conservatives fight toooth & nail that kind of 'gubmint welfare on a daily basis -- while at the same time it shall be noted -- giving tax breaks to the wealthy and big corporations.

So forgive my skeptical uncouthness if I gleefully fart in the general direction of the idea that conservatives are humanely and sincerely concerned about the health and well-being of this country's children in a broad sense.

But getting back to the central charges that Obama's speech will be used to "brainwash" and "indoctrinate" kids into the Cult of Obama politics -- I really have to wonder though -- when it comes to the nefarious practice of manipulating a young child's mind, can it truly get any fucking worse than this?:

Holy Fuck!

Yahoo! right now has a headline up on their main page blaring: "Parents Angry Over Obama Speech!"

When you click on it, you go to the story which has a completely different, less bombastic headline.

Knowing, however, that Yahoo! gets it's news feeds from the very inept and oft biased Associated Press, that bit of journalistic chicanery didn't surprise me.

But I did and still do have a question about the main page headline: Which parents are angry? Where? So I decided to read the article.

Based on the content of the Yahoo! article, I'd be willing to wager a good sum of Simoleons that the parents who are the "angry" ones are quite likely the same ones who are of the belief that Barack Obama is a stealth Muslim who was born in Kenya, and is a communist sympathizing, terrorist appeasing, America hating, dirty fucking socialist hippie loving, scary black man, who wants to force socialized medicine on America so he can kill white folk's grandmas and disabled babies.

And then I saw it! About 3/4 of the way through the Yahoo! article, lo and behold, is a link to an Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel article discussing the same Obama speech and -- Oh my fucking god! -- just a quick perusal through the first couple of pages of reader comments is like reading the deranged crayon scribblings of a bunch of mentally disturbed, amped up on methamphetamine Archie Bunkers.

If I had to sum it all up in one concise description this would be the gist of their postings: "I don't want my child's beautiful mind indoctrinated by that good for nothing, communist sympathizing, terrorist appeasing, America hating, dirty fucking socialist hippie loving, scary black man, who's actually a Kenyan Muslim and is trying to kill my grandma and my babies with his healthcare death panels!"

There are times, honestly, when I fear for the future of my country. And it's almost always after reading about or seeing the conservative mob mentality mindset in action. Scarier yet, these people are procreating.

Not that it matters to conservatives but . . . . .

From that evil, commie, librul newspaper known as The Wall St. Journal:

WASHINGTON -- Government efforts to funnel hundreds of billions of dollars into the U.S. economy appear to be helping the U.S. climb out of the worst recession in decades.

But there's little agreement about which programs are having the biggest impact. Some economists argue that efforts such as the Federal Reserve's aggressive buying of Treasury debt and mortgage-backed securities, as well as government efforts to shore up banks, are providing a bigger boost than the administration's $787 billion stimulus package.

The U.S. economy is beginning to show signs of improvement, with many economists asserting the worst is past and data pointing to stronger-than-expected growth. On Tuesday, data showed manufacturing grew in August for the first time in more than a year. "There's a method to the madness. We're getting out of this," said Brian Bethune, chief U.S. financial economist at IHS Global Insight.

Much of the stimulus spending is just beginning to trickle through the economy, with spending expected to peak sometime later this year or in early 2010. The government has funneled about $60 billion of the $288 billion in promised tax cuts to U.S. households, while about $84 billion of the $499 billion in spending has been paid. About $200 billion has been promised to certain projects, such as infrastructure and energy projects.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner speaks last month at the construction site of a new elementary school in Berea, Ohio.

Economists say the money out the door -- combined with the expectation of additional funds flowing soon -- is fueling growth above where it would have been without any government action.

Any chance of a single, loud-mouthed conservative acknowledging, that maybe -- just maybe -- the skinny mulatto guy who's taken up residence in the White House actually knew what he was doing? Don't count on it -- you're talking about people who can't even admit that invading Iraq wasn't the most awesomest idea ever, or that Sarah Palin was the worst fucking Vice Presidential choice in the history of the republic.

Fine by me. But the first right-wing assclown who tries to give credit to the Republicans for the recession recovery, I'm gonna tell them to stick their bullshit right back up the elephantine anus whence it came.

Ultimately it goes without saying that I personally could experience no other higher form of pleasure (with the exception of tantric sex with Megan Fox - lol) than to see the stimulus plan succeed for America and some day in the not very distant future behold a bunch of wild-eyed, ranting conservatives eating a big 'ol plate of this:

A Sane Republican (the rarest of a rare species) Speaks Out . . .

Former GOP Senator Chuck Hagel is a pariah within the modern Republican party for having sane, conscientious ideas like those he expresses in this WaPo op-ed about the on-going involvement of the U.S. military in Afghanistan.

Chuck Hagel, a Vietnam veteran, has seen war up close and personal. He knows the human devastation that is the main byproduct of war. To ignore important voices and views like those of his is colossally dumb by any intellectual and moral standards.

I've pointed this out before, but it's a good refresher to note -- the people who bellow the loudest and beat their chests the hardest in favor of war always seem to be the people who've never worn a military uniform, avoided war when it was their chance to serve and who think war is just a dandy experience as long as it is other people's children doing the killing and dying. Those chickenhawks to whom I refer know very goddamn well what I'm talking about.

I think Obama had better be extremely careful as to any plans he may be reviewing and considering for ratcheting up the level of U.S. commitment in Afghanistan.

As Sen. Hagel so astutely observes:
"Bogging down large armies in historically complex, dangerous areas ends in disaster. In Vietnam, we kept feeding more men, material and money into a corrupt Vietnamese government as our own leaders continued to deceive themselves and the American people. Today's wars are quite different from Vietnam. But the Obama administration, Congress and the Pentagon must get this right because it will frame the global architecture for the next generation. We must put forward fresh thinking. We can no longer hold ourselves to narrow "single issue" engagement when dealing with nations such as China, Russia, India, Brazil, Turkey or South Korea. The United States needs all these countries and many more if we are to engage the most dangerous challenges -- not one at a time but all together. Our relationships with these nations have matured since World War II, as these nations have matured. Does anyone believe we will get to a responsible resolution on Iran without Russia? There's a reason we are part of a Group of 20 rather than a G-8. Even the world's largest economies cannot handle today's problems alone."

George Santayana wrote in his Reason in Common Sense, The Life of Reason, Vol.1, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

Those instructive words should weigh heavy on Obama's mind as he contemplates the next steps in dealing with this very serious subject.

A lesbian schools Fox News on the art of journalism and interviewing . . .

Yeah I know -- she's one of them icky lesbo thingys of teh gay persuasion, but if you watch Rachel Maddow's interview of former Homeland Security chief Tom Ridge, then compare it to this past week's Chris Wallace interview of Dick Cheney on Fox, one distinctive observation stands out -- Chris Wallace must be a closet homo as well. I say that because that Cheney interview has to have been one of the most lovingly administered man-on-man blow-jobs ever to be recorded on tape.

Can the right-wing nuts get any crazier? krazee's Magic 8 ball says - - It is decidedly so.

Somebody please make them stop - if not for God's sake, then for the sake of decency and humanity.

Apparently the latest pants wetting fear du jour amongst right-winger loons is that a long planned, post Labor Day President Obama broadcast message to the nation's schools purportedly, according to the hyperventilating conservanuts, is actually going to be some nefarious, mesmerizing mass hypnosis trick which is intended to turn American rugrats into a Children of the Corn (or on planet Wingnuttia - Children of the Acorn) version of the Hitler Youth.

A famous U.S. journalist and distinguished author, and gratefully someone who is a member of the reality based community, once made this observation about America:

"We are in the process of creating what deserves to be called the idiot culture. Not an idiot sub-culture, which every society has bubbling beneath the surface and which can provide harmless fun; but the culture itself. For the first time, the weird and the stupid and the coarse are becoming our cultural norm, even our cultural ideal."

Carl Bernstein, U.S. journalist. Guardian (London, June 3, 1992)

Oh how prescient Bernstein was.

That was 1992, which unsurprisingly coincides with a time in U.S. history when another young, charismatic Democrat was on the verge of gaining the reigns of Presidential power. As inane and bizarre as it sounds, I am truly starting to believe that there must be something about young, handsome, virile Democrats in power that just drives the right wing conservatives absolutely fucking bonkers and causes them to march lemming-like straight into the abyss of self-destructive madness. Their current behavior certainly does seem to support that hypothesis.

Let's talk about it . . .

Have the inmates truly taken over the Republican Asylum? And if so, what are the consequences and how do we address it?

This is a subject near and dear to my heart. Not foremost because I've been making observations about it for several years here on this blog, but because I do see it as a critical cultural, ideological and moral battle where the outcome has significant potential for determining the future existence of this country's democratic republic.

Although it's somewhat comforting to see an issue which I and many other lonely voices have been sounding the alarm on for some time finally getting deserved attention with those in the mainstream media who have a much larger audience to converse with, honestly speaking, my view is basically that that apocalyptic, fundamentalist nut-ball locomotive has long since left the train station and the only way to stop it is to sabotage the rails it's running on.

Keith Olbermann and journalist Dan Savage have an open discussion about some fellow Americans whom, quite frankly, I fear more than the Bin-Ladens of the world.

A matter of trust . . .

If anyone can explain to me in detail the credentials that Liz Cheney has on the subject of health care reform, I'd sure be interested in hearing what they are. We already know that dear Lizzy has been stormtrooping all of the major television and cable talking head shows these past couple of months propping up the lies and corruption of her father, former VP Dick Cheney. If she will lie through her teeth about that subject, why would anyone in their right fucking mind trust her to deal honestly with the debate on health care reform?

Just asking.

Every second of airtime that these cable and t.v. news shows provide to Liz Cheney to spout off and dissemble unchallenged about health care reform, is simply additional supportive evidence that the mainstream media has utterly and completely lost any credibility on the subject and cannot, under any circumstances, be trusted to give the American people an opportunity at participating in a fair and honest discussion of a very critical issue affecting a great many people.

What a Dick!

I'm not a praying man for reasons which should be obvious to the sane. But, if I were to partake in such a worthless endeavor such as forlornly asking favors of an invisible being, I would pray that before I die, I will see Dick Cheney shackled and walking the prison perp walk. The man and his legacy is a dark, dank stain on this good country's honor. None of you will ever convince me otherwise.
